Big Kids, Big Adventures, Meaningful Connections
St. Timothy’s school-age program gives children a safe, joyful, and engaging place to begin and end their school day. Children have opportunities to build friendships, receive support, explore their interests, stay active, and—most importantly—have fun.

Before- and After-School Care for Ages 5–12
Our before- and after-school program serves children beginning in kindergarten through age 12, which typically includes students entering sixth grade. Children must be enrolled in kindergarten or an older grade to participate. At this time, children enrolled in Pre-K3 or Pre-K4 are not eligible for the school-age before- and after-school program.
A Trusted Neighborhood Connection
St. Timothy’s partners with Anne Beers Elementary School to provide before- and after-school care for eligible students. Anne Beers is located within the same community and is only a short walk from St. Timothy’s.
Our dedicated and alert educators carefully accompany children between St. Timothy’s and Anne Beers Elementary School. This neighborhood connection gives families a dependable transition between school and child care while allowing children to remain connected to their community.

A Day in Our Program
Before School
Children begin their morning at St. Timothy’s in a welcoming environment. Breakfast is provided before children prepare to leave for school. Our educators support a calm morning transition and carefully escort participating students on the short walk to Anne Beers Elementary School.
After School
When children return to St. Timothy’s, they receive an afternoon snack and time to transition from the school day. Homework assistance is available when needed, followed by opportunities for active play, creativity, friendship, exploration, and fun.
Support When Children Need It
Our school-age educators provide homework assistance when needed while encouraging children to develop responsibility, confidence, independence, and positive learning habits. We balance academic support with opportunities for children to relax, socialize, move, create, and enjoy their time outside the regular school day.
There Is Always Something to Explore
Our school-age program is intentionally fun. Activities are designed to reflect children’s interests, provide meaningful choices, strengthen friendships, encourage creativity, and give children opportunities to try new things. Experiences may vary throughout the school year and summer.
Care Beyond the Regular School Day
We understand that school closures can be disruptive. St. Timothy’s aim to provide care on many DC Public Schools professional development and closure days to support our dual-working households. Please note that while we strive to be open as much as possible, we do not promise care on every single DCPS closure day; seasonal and holiday schedules will be provided in advance to help you plan.

Summer Camp at St. Timothy’s
Our school-age summer camp serves children who have completed kindergarten through age 12. Children who have not yet completed kindergarten are not eligible for the school-age summer camp program.
Summer at St. Timothy’s includes a wide range of engaging experiences that may include cooking, STEM, gardening, arts and crafts, outdoor play, field trips, library visits, neighborhood exploration, games, supervised digital play, special projects, and community-based learning. Children have opportunities to build confidence, strengthen friendships, explore their interests, and create joyful summer memories.
Keeping Families Connected
Enrolled families receive school-age program messages, reminders, photographs, videos, calendar updates, and other important communication through Brightwheel. Detailed trip information and private activity schedules are shared directly with enrolled families and are not displayed publicly.
Care Beyond the Regular School Day
St. Timothy’s may provide full-day school-age care on select days when DC Public Schools are closed for professional development, holidays, breaks, or other scheduled reasons. Families should consult the center’s calendar and contact the program to confirm availability and registration requirements for individual closure days.
