ABOUT ST. TIMOTHY’S
For more than 50 years, St. Timothy’s Episcopal Child Development Center has served children and families in Washington, D.C. Our center is a trusted, community-rooted early childhood program where children are known, valued, protected, and nurtured with intention.
We provide warm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environments for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children. Our educators support children’s social-emotional, physical, cognitive, language, and creative development through responsive relationships, purposeful play, exploration, and meaningful learning experiences.
Families are essential partners in our program. We strive to build respectful relationships with parents and guardians, understand each child’s individual needs, and help children feel secure, confident, joyful, and ready to learn.

Our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning community where every child can grow, explore, develop meaningful relationships, and build a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
Our Approach
Our approach is family-centered, relationship-based, culturally responsive, and grounded in the understanding that every child develops at an individual pace. We value purposeful play, attentive educators, welcoming classrooms, family partnership, and experiences that support the whole child.
OUR COMMUNITY LEGACY
St. Timothy’s Episcopal Child Development Center has been part of the Washington, D.C. community for more than five decades. Generations of children and families have been welcomed through our doors, creating a legacy of care, education, faith-rooted service, and community connection.
Our dedicated team includes administrators, lead and assistant teachers, classroom educators, school-age educators, and program support professionals who work together to create safe, nurturing, engaging, and responsive environments for every child.
